Review of Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation moisturizer

Ole Henriksen
|Sheer Transformation|

I had never heard of this brand before, and I have no idea how that is! I was given a sample of Sheer Transformation when I bought something else, and of course like other samples I get I waited and waited and waited to use it. Finally one night I decided I'd try it. The directions are to use it in the morning and at night. My sample was large enough for one night and one morning application.
So I put it on at night. I wasn't really expecting anything to happen. I played a game for a while, then I went to bed. In the morning my face was a LOT smoother! I was very surprised at how smooth ONE application had made it, it even felt more supple. I noticed that my skin tone also looked more even. It was very exciting!! So of course I eagerly put the rest of the sample on for the morning.
Even though the directions say to use A.M. and P.M., I would not normally use this in the morning. For me personally, it takes too long to soak into the skin and it stays tacky for too long. I was running short on time as is and was actually unable to wear makeup because it took long to soak in! I could not even use my eyebrow pencil!! THAT was disappointing. So, as I said, I would only personally use it over night instead.
While at work I mentioned Ole Henriksen and felt better because none of the ladies in the office (some VERY beauty-concerned) had heard of the brand either! So I told them what I had tried and one of the brand new ladies said "Your face looks very smooth and clean! I thought you were wearing make-up!" which was nice to hear. It still felt super smooth to the touch compared to the previous day. When I got home, before I looked in the mirror, I asked my spouse if there was anything different about my skin and she replied that it looked less red than usual, which I interpret as a more even skin tone. After just TWO uses! I was very impressed and wanted to look in the mirror. DEFINITELY a more even skin tone, and much much smoother looking than before. I wish I had another sample for tonight!
I feel that my skin is more hydrated, but unlike with other moisturizers I've tried, I don't feel as though I will break out from Sheer Transformation. It never felt greasy, even when it was still soaking in. It feels refreshed, and even younger. I also feel that it brightened the skin under my eyes.
This is a wonderful addition to any beauty routine, I have NOTHING negative to say about it, other than it is a little bit expensive for a moisturizer. Considering all the other benefits, though, I plan to buy a bottle on Friday. :) I think this is my favorite beauty product so far!

What it is:
An oil-free, lightweight moisturizer that nourishes skin as it gently exfoliates and fades dark spots.

What it is formulated to do:
Skin feels fresh, healthy, and bright with this lightweight moisturizer's silky whipped texture that melts into skin. A potent blend of actiwhite™, licorice, and vitamin C help fade dark spots, even skintone, and prevent premature signs of aging while botanical fruit acids gently exfoliate and retexturize. The calming blend of sandalwood, geranium, and chamomile soothes, balances, and purifies the skin to minimize pores while glycerin lightly hydrates. Sugar cane and multifruit AHAs gently exfoliate to refine texture, even tone, and soften the look of fine lines as vitamin C brightens and provides antioxidant protection from environmental aggressors. Vitamin E heals, restores, and nourishes the skin, leaving you with a healthy-looking, smooth, refreshed complexion.
Suggested Usage:
-Apply in the AM and PM after treatment step.

Edit 8/28/16  - Since writing this review, I did buy a full sized jar of this moisturizer. In the summer I don't use moisturizer as much (unless I've been out in the sun) but I still love it! The size of the jar is good for the price, and you only need to use a small amount each night. I still recommend this product! I'm also very interested in trying more from Old Henriksen.

Review of Living Proof Restore Mask Treatment

| Living Proof |
Restore Mask Treatment

I received a sample of Living Proof Restore Mask Treatment, and was actually super excited about it. I have never used a mask for my hair, so I'm not sure if my disappointment is fair.
I admit I did have high hopes, and expectations, from all the raving reviews on the Ulta website.

The Good:
-It smells GREAT.
-It seems to detangle hair--mine doesn't really tangle much but I can tell by running my fingers through it.

The Bad:
-It did not live up to my expectations, at all.
-My hair does not feel moisturized.
-It took a ridiculous amount of product to cover my short hair.
-My hair does not feel stronger.

The Conclusion:
I would not buy this product or recommend this product. It was a disappointment to me. If you need moisture, I am honestly more impressed with the TRESemme Conditioner Luxurious Moisture! If you want strength I'd pair the Head & Shoulders: Full and Strong with the TRESemme conditioner mentioned above. For price comparisons, I'll post links below!

STILA Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner ! Review

Hello everyone!
I was able to buy a few things I've been wanting yesterday, and one of them happened to be Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner from Stila!

My favorite part of this product is that it's like a THIN felt tip marker instead of a brush! In my opinion it is MUCH easier to use and it gives you much better control of your lines.

I got the intense black, and totally love it. I thought about getting Periwinkle because it's SUCH a pretty color! Maybe on my next trip! I want Moss, Cobalt, Teal, and Paradise Pink also!! The colors are beautiful, bright, and intense. I also feel that they last quite a while compared to other liquid liners I've tried. They do take about 20 seconds to dry, which is the only down side I see, but I feel that 20 seconds is pretty standard and is ultimately worth the durability of the product.

The actual application was great, the tip is thick on the bottom and very fine on top so you can make a lot of different kinds of lines!

I absolutely recommend this product! I enjoyed the easy application and the bold color.

ULTA price... $22
Sephora price... $22

Amazon price.. $20.90  :)

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - no spoilers!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child  is officially out! I have not read it yet and have been avoiding spoilers, but I bought it today for my kindle! Here's some tidbits that I know about the book and how I feel about them:

-The main HP characters are now background characters, this one focuses on their children. I think this is the main reason I'm so excited about the book--the rest of the series was fantastic, but I also thought it ended beautifully, and I was a little unnerved when I heard there would be more. The fact that we get to see glimpses of what our favorite troublemakers are up to as adults feels like it will add a sense of closure. I grew up reading Harry Potter, I started when I was 11 and it was amazing to connect with those characters, and to mature with them, and now to get to see them have families of their own while I have my own family... I think it's amazing. And a whole new generation will get to get to connect to characters from the same universe. I'm not sure if there will be more after Harry Potter and the Cursed Child but it'd be beautiful to bring generations together this way.
-Harry Potter's children have to deal with their dad's reputation and feel that it shadows over their life. I'm sure many children can relate to this, even small things like having the same teacher your older sibling did would be relate-able. Wanting to make your parents proud, live up to your name, and not disappoint anyone are all very real life, believable problems.
-The kids are named after other characters. I LOVE this, I'm sure there are those who don't, and those who think it was taken a little too far, but I think it's an amazing way to remember those characters while they stay in the background, or aren't mentioned at all.
-Albus Severus is in Slytherin house! I think it makes sense for the story. I'm a little concerned about the friendship between Albus and Scorpius (son of Draco) though.

And that's all I'm going to say right now! I can't wait to read it!
Let's celebrate the book release with some awesome Harry Potter stuff!

Edit 8/4/16 : I kind of wish it had been edited more into a book format, rather than just putting the screenplay into a book. I find it to be a little distracting actually and it takes away from what I'm reading. I'm over 60% through the book and enjoying the story though! Hopefully the format will grow on me! AND, Scorpius is actually a decent friend to Albus! What I'm finding is that we don't get to be as personal with these characters, maybe because it's a play and the visual would allow that more.
